Settled YearsYour plan

Your plan for turning 65, with no sales pitch

Tell us a little about your household. We'll give you one plan: when to sign up for Medicare, when to start Social Security, which kind of coverage fits you, and the forms to send. Every step has a date. We don't sell insurance, and no insurance company pays us.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your household. Birthdays, health coverage, when work ends, rough income. Type it in, or describe it in your own words and we'll fill in the form.
  2. Get your plan. A month-by-month timeline for you and your spouse, with the reasons behind every date and links to the official rules.
  3. Stay on track. Forms filled in and ready to sign, and a reminder email each month something is due.

Questions

Are you part of Medicare or Social Security?

No. Settled Years is an independent company. We explain the official rules and apply them to your details, and we link to the source for every rule we use.

Do you sell insurance or earn commissions?

No. We don't sell or recommend specific insurance plans, and no insurance company pays us. That's why we can tell you plainly when a $0-premium plan isn't the better deal.

Do I need to give you my Social Security or Medicare number?

No. We never ask for them or store them. Forms come with those spaces blank for you to fill in by hand.

What if the rules or amounts change?

Medicare and Social Security amounts change every fall. We update the rules each year, and your plan recalculates when we do.

Can my son or daughter help me with it?

Yes. An adult child can set up the plan for a parent, and the plan, forms and reminders are written so anyone in the family can follow them.
